Summer Employment is an important part of a young adult’s evolution into the workforce. Over the past few years the opportunity for young adults to gain summer employment has become a challenging task. The Private Sector Summer Jobs Initiative was created to help connect businesses with talented, eager young adults seeking to gain experience over the summer.
We are inviting businesses to hire at least one young adult 18 to 24 years old for 6 to 8 weeks . Our goal is to have 225 young adults and youth employed this summer and cannot do this without you.

In the past, these programs have been supported by public funding.  Due to the downturn in the economy, and the federal and state budget deficits, the summer employment funding has become uncertain.
